Many people think instrument commissioning is difficult due to lack of operational proficiency. However, during on-site practical use, the real problem is often not the operation itself — the tools simply fail to establish communication.

First of all, the connection setup is overly complicated. HART communication signals are superimposed on the 4–20mA current loop. Ordinary computers cannot recognize such signals directly; a dedicated HART interface device is required for modulation and demodulation to build a communication link.
Second, on-site setup incurs high extra costs. A complete commissioning job usually requires extra spare parts: a separate 24V power supply, loop resistance, communication adapter, and various connecting cables. The root cause: there is no standardized on-site access method for HART communication, so commissioning relies on temporarily assembled wiring loops.
