How to Calibrate Norhen Pressure Transmitters: Essential Common Operations

Installing a pressure transmitter does not complete the commissioning work. Depending on field working conditions, users may need to change output mode, adjust range units or perform zero-point calibration. Mastering these regular operations enables the device to match on-site requirements and boosts later maintenance efficiency.
Today we take Norhen high-stability pressure transmitters as an example to introduce several frequently used calibration functions.

How to Switch Between Linear Output and Square Root Output

For flow measurement and other applications, some users need to switch output mode from linear to square root. Norhen pressure transmitters support quick on-site adjustment.

Operation Steps

  1. Press and hold key Z to unlock the menu.
  2. Tap key Z to shift digits to the last password digit, set the password to 00002.
  3. Tap key M to confirm and enter the output characteristic page.
  4. Tap key S to select output mode, switch Linear to Square Root.
  5. Tap key M again to confirm and return to the main screen.
  6. Tap key S. A square root symbol √ displayed at the top of the screen indicates successful switching.

How to Perform Zero Reset

If the reading shows minor deviation when no pressure is applied on site, use the zero reset function for calibration.

Operation Steps

  1. Press and hold key M and key S simultaneously to enter the primary variable zero reset page.
  2. Tap key S to switch the option from No to Yes.
  3. Tap key M to confirm and return to the main screen.
  4. When PV is displayed at the top and the value below reads 0, tap key S to finish zero reset.

How to Modify Measuring Range and Pressure Unit

Different sites adopt various units including MPa, kPa, bar, mmH₂O, etc. The transmitter allows unit modification and resetting of upper and lower range limits as required.

Operation Steps

  1. Press and hold key Z to unlock, set the password to 00002.
  2. Tap key M to enter the primary variable unit page.
  3. Tap key S to select the target unit (mmH₂O is taken as an example here).
  4. Tap key M to confirm the unit selection.
  5. Tap key M again to access the setting pages for lower range limit and upper range limit, adjust values according to actual demands.
  6. After all settings, tap key M repeatedly to return to the main screen and verify updated units and ranges.
